Weinig Molding system and the doubling of our millwork
facility in 2003, Davis-Hawn has greatly expanded
its capabilities of manufacturing extremely high
quality custom hardwood moldings. With this German-engineered
Weinig system, we are able to produce the finest
in architectural moldings to our customers’
exact specifications - comparable to any of the
largest production millwork operations. Our mill’s
continual focus is to provide the highest quality
moldings, quick turn-around times and competitive
pricing.

Custom Knife Collection
We have an extensive offering of molding knives
in our collection – including many standard
patterns as well as hundreds of historic and custom
profiles. If you need a new custom profile or are
matching an existing molding, we can precisely duplicate
it using CAD drawings, CNC template cutting and
our on-site Weinig knife grinding facility.
Knife and Setup Charges
There is absolutely no knife charge for use of our
existing knives. For the grinding of new knives
there is a per inch charge based on the size of
the molding profile and the number of knives required.
Under the Weinig system, all knives are ground in
the molding heads which are then installed directly
into the molder – with all steps calibrated
to insure accuracy and precision. Due to the time
required to properly prepare the molder for each
milling run, there is a setup charge based on the
complexity of the operation (waived for longer runs
of a particular profile).
